Born in South Africa and inspired by beauty of the African continent, Laura was especially fascinated by the importance and use of beads in the lives of African women. 

 

Now living in the Caribbean, Blaque Satin was founded to bring to life the beauty of the Caribbean and daily inspiration through the use of a traditional African medium of communication. 

 

Laura's journey into bead work soon evolved into a love of Contemporary Geometric Beadwork and Bead Weaving.

Blaque Satin uses glass beads from Japan and quality findings sourced in New York. Each item is handmade which means most of our jewellery pieces are one of a kind or limited edition.
